Building Begins!
SOUTHWICK, Mass., Sept. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The New American Castle project is an 11,000 square foot luxury show Castle located in Middlefield, MA, which has attracted international media attention. The challenge was preparing a site for construction of the Castle, which has taken almost a full year. Owners Kim and Patricia Baker were undaunted by the challenges the undeveloped land, and steep elevations presented and have made major progress in the last ten months. Ground was officially broken for the foundation on September 12th and excavation will be completed by September 20th.
The project is expected to take 1 year to complete, and beyond serving as a showcase, will ultimately become a private residence with offices and an exotic car shop. The New American Castle promises to deliver the best of 21st century innovation, while retaining all the magic and charm of an old European castle.
John Kennedy of AJK Engineering, Builder Tony McCarthy, of McCarthy Concrete and Construction, Excavator, Tom Beck of Beck Construction and Contractor Kim Baker are working together to bring the Castle to fruition. Meetings are taking place this week to finalize construction details.
The popular www.newamericancastle.com website, allows both the trade and consumers to closely follow the Castle's construction process. Russ Anderson of Flashpoint Communications is producing a video documenting the building of the Castle, and a television series is also being planned.
